Basic Black: Japanese Pattern Book Giveaway

08/20/2014

basicblack

Hellooooo readers!!!!

I’m back from my week at the Couture Sewing Sweatshop Class. Let’s just say I got my sewing on there. Seriously. Sewing, draping and fitting from 9 AM until 1 AM some nights. More on that later this week. When I get my photos organized.

But first, a giveaway!

BASIC BLACK : 26 Edgy Essentials For The Modern Wardrobe by Sato Watanabe

With patterns, instructions, and diagrams translated to English.

I am liking this one readers!

There are cute, fitted, and very wearable styles. YAY!!!

Β  Now fitted isn’t something I normally associate with Japanese Pattern Books so let’s just say I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened this book, thinking it was going to be the typical potato sack/jumper/ smock type stuff from some of the other books I’ve looked at and sewed from.

No. Not at all. There are several things I can’t wait to sew for Fall so I won’t be giving away my copy, but Tuttle Publishing will be giving a copy away to one lucky reader.

Let’s take a peek at the patterns sewn up, shall we?BB2

BB3BB6BB1BB7BB10BB9BB5

Pretty great right?

Of course there are a few of the usual suspects , for those that can get away with it….BB11Big thanks to Tuttle Publishing for sponsoring this giveaway!

To enter leave a comment below with your email included in the comment form and I’ll get back to the winner on Sunday Evening and announce the winner on my Sew Country Chick Facebook Page.

Not typical of the Japanese pattern style! I am loving the vibe of these garments as they look smart but very wearable. If I am not the lucky winner I might just treat myself.

This book appears to have a number of intriguing and beautiful designs that are just crying to be made up into elegant black (or navy for those who don’t wear black) fabric. I love to sew and have lots more time now to indulge in this rewarding passion. I’d love to win a copy of the book, but even if I don’t, I want to thank you so much for sharing your expertise and ideas.
