Welcome to my custom design information page!
I would love to make something pretty for your special day! Whether you have something specific in mind, or need help visualizing your idea, together we can create something really special.
I’ve made commissioned wedding gowns, first communion gowns, baptismal gowns, and original theatrical and historic costumes. I also design dresses and clothing for myself, my children, and some sewing publications. I can make a pattern from scratch, or create something from an existing sewing pattern, or refashion an existing dress. Either way, I’ll work hard to make the fit perfect.
At this time in, I don’t work full time as a seamstress/designer, but instead take on a couple projects every year if time and opportunity permit. This keeps my life as a full time mom more balanced and sane. While I do create refashions from existing gowns, basic alterations for store bought dresses, are best left for the bridal alteration shop.
I majored in fashion design, pattern making, and draping at FIDM in Los Angeles, but first learned to sew at community college. I’ve been learning on my own ever since. I’ve also taken a few educational courses on my own since then, weekend workshops at parsons and Susan Khalje’s week long Couture sewing retreat. I’m a member of The American Sewing Guild. Sewing has been a lifelong passion of mine.
