DIY Fashion Link Up

05/03/2014

Design It Yourself Link PartyWelcome to my first monthly DIY fashion design link party!

Embarrassingly I have to admit, I don’t have anything to show! I didn’t get my photos taken of my dress yet. But I said I’d put the party up, and I want to see what you all made ! And if you haven’t made anything yet, that’s OK. maybe you will be inspired next month. I’ll be posting this party the FIRST SATURDAY of EVERY month although next month, I’ll be in Spain, poor me, right? But hopefully I will get a lap top so I can do a little bit of blogging on my trip and I can post the party . Either I’m incredibly dedicated to my blog, or I am real idiot to even think about blogging while I’m traveling.

So are any of you going to be following this season’s Project Sewn? There are some great participants taking part this season, and the first week starts Monday. Maybe you will be inspired to create something for yourself when chacking out the weekly themes.

The reason I didn’t get my photos done was I just finished a First communion dress for a friend’s seven year old. I really went to town on this dress and it took a lot longer than I thought it would…. It needs to be ready first thing in the morning and I JUST finished sewing the last little button of many satin ones to the back of the dress. I’ll post photos on Monday!
I also got a new blog design this week. I felt something more springlike and colorful was in order. What do you think?

If you have anything you either designed, refashioned, traced , or just threw together, share away!

Love the redesign! I don’t have anything to add this time either, but I don’t mind seeing everyone else’s stuff. 🙂

We took a cruise last month and one of the stops was in Barcelona; I loved it there! It was my first time visiting Spain. That would definitely be a place I would want to spend more time at. The shopping was fabulous…and the food!

First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick
question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear
your head before writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting
my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any suggestions or hints? Thank you!

You have twenty or so minutes for Task 1 so I suggest spent maximum 5 minutes about the preparation stage.
