That would be ginger cookies made for goats, not ginger cookies made with goats!

Today we made some home made ginger cookies for our goats. Animals don’t notice if you add a little too much of this or that, so it’s a fun way to get little kids going in the kitchen. Measuring things themselves and what not.

When we bought our goats their previous owners let us know that the goats adored Ginger snap cookies. They go nuts over them, but there are sooo many additives in them which probably aren’t so great for goats, let alone the kids they are marketed to. So we decided it would be fun to try making a healthier version at home.

BTW, the dogs loved these treats too!

1Ginger snaps treats for goats. So easy a six year old can do it!

How to make:

In a big bowl combine:

5 cups wheat flour

1  1/2 tbsp. baking soda

1 tbsp. ground ginger

2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 cup applesauce

3/4 cup molasses

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup olive oil

1 beaten egg

Preheat oven to 375F

Mix dough and knead with CLEAN hands.

Refrigerate for at least an hour.

Roll out dough to 1/2 inch or smaller if you can.

Use your favorite cutters to make fun shapes.

Bake for ten minutes.
