Lullaby Layette

09/10/2017

My husband’s niece just had her second baby. That makes me a great auntie times two! So what types of things do great aunties do for great nephews and nieces? Make great little outfits, of course! Lullaby layette

This Lullaby Layette is in double gauze and the bodysuit is made from cotton lycra knit. The Lullaby Layette pattern is from Oliver & S . It was a fun little project to make, especially the snaps, and I have no complaints about this pattern. I recommend it for any person looking to make a baby outfit. This double gauze I bought from Fabric.com is so soft and cozy! But it was hard to work with as it’s almost the consistency of cheesecloth. Don’t even try picking stitches out from it!Lullaby Layette So now would be about time to take a break from all the Oliver & S and Lisette patterns I’ve been sewing lately, as it is now tennis season and I’m on two teams this season! Plus, I’m helping coach Gigi’s cross country team .

Look forward to some activewear coming through the pipeline…. Did anyone say Jalie?

I know what you mean about sewing with double gauze. Didn’t know what it was when I made a PLAID shirt. It was difficult to get it to stay still, but it turned out to be my favorite of the summer, even though a lot of cursing was involved.

OMG, Justine! What beautiful work! That baby ensemble looks like you purchased it at a high end children’s store! You really have a knack for choosing just the coolest fabrics. I soooo enjoy your blog!

These baby clothes are adorable. I love putting a handmade touch on baby shower gifts. What a perfect little baby outfit to make as a gift!
