McCall’s 5621

06/09/2011

McCall’s 5621
So here are the goods for today’s Me Mades. This is a little tunic dress I made from some blue linen and trimmed with some coordinating upholstery fabrics.
I made this last year but the style looked pretty terrible on me. If you are busty  shift dresses can make you look pregnant. At least that was how I looked. I salvaged the dress by adding a casing under the bust and inserting elastic.
Clinton Kelly from What Not To Wear always says to accentuate the area just under the bust because it has a slimming effect. That’s my folding the laundry show!

I LOVE this dress! The trim is wonderful…what a great idea! I really like the neckline shape as well! I know what you mean about the 60’s dresses…I feel I always have to stand a certain way for it to look good 🙂
