The Lenten decluttering of the mind, body and spirit is coming along. I’m making it to Mass more. And logging in lots of time at the gym, trying new workouts like Tabata, TRX, and Crossfit, as well as getting back into tennis after ten years.
And the home purge continues. Last night, I went to the thrift shop and saw a few of my handmade dresses, and lots of other things of ours for sale there. I was tempted to buy them back, but I didn’t. Actually, I did buy one handmade dress back, and a couple other vintage things that my husband had donated on accident….he took the ‘keep’ bags as well as the ‘giveaway’ bags. It’s always a weird feeling to see your stuff at the thrift shop!
I’ve also been on the Whole Thirty eating plan which is kind of hard. You can’t eat dairy, grains, sugar, or beans on the Whole Thirty plan. And you can’t drink wine or any other booze. But it’s only for thirty days, and I’m happy to say that I am finally getting used to having black coffee, and am even starting to like it. So I haven’t had much time for sewing lately, with all this business. But maybe I’ll stick with some of these habits, as I am feeling pretty energized lately, and even cleaned out my dreaded shed today.
And hopefully, I can finish the dress I’ve been working on for Lily for the past two weeks by this weekend, so I can have something to blog!
I did want to mention that I’m going to be on a TV show sometime this month. It’s called Sew It All, and it’s hosted by Ellen March from Sew News Magazine. I write occasional articles for them, and they asked me to come on the show to give viewers a run down on sewing with leather. I’ll also be providing a free leather skirt pattern on their website. Please let me know if you see it, or when it airs, because I don’t think I get this show on my satellite provider. I probably won’t watch it though, because I’m too embarrassed to watch myself!
