Sew & Tell Saturday # 5

01/07/2012

So who is just so excited about Project Runway’s All-Stars series that just started this week? Can someone please say “EGO?” As Austin says,” I am awesome, I am talented, and I demand satisfaction!”.  I am so happy to see Mondo and Anthony back! Love those guys, especially Mondo’s knee highs.
My favorite outfit this week on the show was by Rami. What a gorgeous execution of trash bags. Sheesh!
And now for some featured projects from last week’s Sew & Tell from some fabulous fashionistas:

A chic cape from What’s Up Cupcake.
A refashion of some baggy thrift shop pants into something hip and stylish by Mongs at My Thrifty Closet.
A lovely vintage style pink bowed frock from Bethany from Lil Bit and Nan
A cute and cozy  heart pocketed version of Collette’s popular Parfait pattern at Paunnet.

Here are a couple things I made and blogged about this week:

This dress.
 This pillow

I NEED to sew something! It’s been since christmas eve, far too long 🙂

But I have a full February & March coming up so maybe my subconscious motivation is just having some time off.

I really love your knit dress, i’ll have to see about acquiring that pattern…

Hi! I’m SO jealous of you as you can watch Project Runway All stars, I live in Sweden and all episodes are sent much later here. I can ofcourse see online, but not the newest ones! It is my favorite series of all times and I just love Anthony, Sweet P, Michael Knight…you always get favorites. I will with interest follow your blog and all the beautiful things you make. I also blog – in swedish – as I design bags (mostly) from old fabrics, buttons, lace. If you are intrested you can see my stuff on http://www.mirkka.com – the webhop is in english also.
kind greeting from the other side of the ocean :-)) Maritta

I was totally amazed at what a person can design using $.99 cent store products. Rami did a 100% turnaround from his draping designs to something more sculpted, all his work is beautiful. Loved the talent of these designers.

Hi, my kids and I are making dolls for domestic violence shelters. I stumbled across the idea while cruising around Blogland, and we’re excited to participate. Thanks for hostessing the party! Hugs ~ Mary
